W A T P T I? It is very important to maintain the health of the primary teeth. Neglected cavities can and frequently do lead to problems which affect developing permanent teeth. Primary teeth, or baby teeth are important for (1) proper chewing and eating, (2) providing space for the permanent teeth and guiding them into the correct position, and (3) permitting normal development of the jaw bones and muscles. Primary teeth also affect the development o...f speech and add to an attractive appearance. While the front 4 teeth last until 6-7 years of age, the back teeth (cuspids and molars) aren’t replaced until age 10-13. To book a consultation appointment, please call our office at 214-380-5054 or visit pediatricpro.com and request an appointment. Today, Jan 18, 2021, we remember the life of Martin Luther King Jr. and his legacy. The theme for 2021 is a famous quote from king: The time is always right to do what is right. Now more than ever, it is crucial that we as a community, a nation, take a stand and be willing and able to do what is right towards and for each other. Julian is 6 months old and he had his first dental exam today. An initial exam should happen within 6 months of the eruption of the first tooth or no later than 12 months of age. The initial exam is usually completed as a lap-to-lap exam. During this type of exam, the caregiver will sit facing the dentist with both caregiver and dentist’s knees touching. The infant will face the caregiver and the caregiver will gently lay the infant into the dentist’s lap. The knee-to-kn...ee position can also be used by parents when brushing an infant’s teeth. The examination typically takes less than 2 minutes. #pediatricpro #pediatricdentistry #pediatricdentist #dentist #infantoralcare #childrensdentistry #dentaloffice #oralhygiene #oralhealth See more

H D -? Dental x-rays are a common diagnostic procedure that is considered extremely safe. Digital dental x-rays have very low doses of radiation, producing just a fraction of what you are exposed to in other imaging procedures. When these x-rays are performed properly with adequate safety precautions in place, there’s very little cause for concern. A routine examination with four bitewing x-rays exposes you to less amount of radiation that you will experi...ence during one to two hours on an airplane. W N D X-R? Dental x-rays are used diagnostically to help dentists see issues that are otherwise nearly invisible to the naked eye. With dental x-rays dentists can better identify and treat various issues. Using these x-rays, your healthcare provider can see: * Areas of decay, including those in between teeth or under a filling * Bone loss associated with gum disease * Abscesses, which are infections at the root of the tooth or between the tooth and gum * Tumors * Changes in the root canal Without an x-ray, many of these problems could go undiagnosed. With an x-ray as a reference, dentists are also better equipped to prepare tooth implants, dentures, braces, and other similar treatments. D X-R C Children may require X-rays more often than adults because their teeth and jaws are still developing and their teeth are more likely to be affected by tooth decay than those of adults. However, the amount of radiation in a dental x-ray is still considered very safe for a child. As children’s jaws and teeth are continuously changing, it’s important to keep an eye on their development. These x-rays perform many important purposes for young patients. They help dentists to: * Make sure the mouth is large enough to accommodate incoming teeth * Monitor the development of wisdom teeth * Determine whether primary teeth are loosening properly to accommodate new permanent teeth * Identify decay and gum disease early It’s important for children to visit the dentist regularly, and to get x-rays as recommended by the dentist.

Happy Monday y’all! We are excited to share the amazing results of this #smilemakeover with you. This is a #beforeafter of filling with no drilling on the front tooth of our wonderful patient. Resin infiltration is a minimally invasive restorative treatment for post-ortho white-spot lesions and certain congenital hypocalcified enamel lesions. ICON resin infiltration technique (filling without drilling) is used to treat those white spot lesions. ... Benefits of ICON treatment: 1. one visit 2. no shots or numbing 3. no drilling 4. much less invasive and less expensive than the alternatives of fillings or veneers 5. White spot lesions treated with Icon will whiten similarly to the natural tooth enamel. If you notice you have white spots on your front teeth and you want them to be removed, please call (214) 380-5054 or visit pediatricpro.com to schedule an appointment. #pediatricpro #pediatricdentistry #pediatricdentist #dentist #icon #resininfiltration #whitespots #dentaloffice #pediatricdentist #saraedds #dentist #beautifulsmile #healthysmile

Happy Transformation Thursday! #beforeafter of Upper Labial frenectomy (lip-tie release) with Biolase Epic Pro Laser and smile transformation with Nusmile Signature crowns. A tight upper lip frenum attachment may compromise full-lip flanging. This can result in a shallow latch during breastfeeding. Additionally, the tight upper lip may trap milk, resulting in constant contact of milk to the front of teeth, and possibly lead to dental decay. A future diastema (gap between the teeth) may also occur. This issue can generally be corrected by a simple procedure done with our latest new technology.

Anthony is giving a thumbs up after his dental visit today. He is in a cavity-free club and he brushes and flosses his teeth. Today he got sealants on his baby molars and he did an amazing job! Dental sealants are thin coatings that when painted on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth (molars) can prevent cavities (tooth decay) for many years. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from cavities by covering them with a protective shield that blocks out germs and food. ... Because of the likelihood of developing decay in the depressions and grooves of the premolars and molars, children and teenagers are great candidates for sealants. Dental sealants are also appropriate for baby teeth. Because baby teeth play such an important role in holding the correct spacing for permanent teeth, it's important to keep these teeth healthy so they are not lost too early. #pediatricpro #sealant #dentalsealant #cavityfree #cavityfreeclub #dentalvisit #teeth #babyteeth #babymolars #dentaloffice #pediatricdentist #pediatricdentistry #children #pediatricdentistryandorthodontics
