We are very excited to introduce you to our new surgery! What a difference! All equipment is brand new and state of the art with the latest gadgets and technology on board. We have been upgrading our practice over the last two years since Lesley took the reins, and this is the latest development at New Cross Dental Care. ... We hope this new improvement is as well received as the new patient toilet was! Thanks to our colleagues at Wrights Dental for their help and expertise in selecting the best for our patients

Some lovely feedback for Lesley and Susan today. It's so nice for our staff to get comments like this during these challenging times! 'Thank you ladies for all your help in putting me at ease during the last couple of weeks. After all these years I know now I wouldn't now rather have a baby than go to the dentist and that's down to you both. Thank you so much'

We would like to reassure our patients that we are still open! Lanarkshire has been placed into Tier 4 lockdown and we are following all government guidelines and health board recommendations as usual. At present there is no change to any upcoming appointments due to the lockdown. Travelling is permitted for medical and dental appointments. ... If you have any concerns or questions, please get in touch with the reception team on 01698 424 444.

A huge well done to Jennifer who is now a qualified dental nurse! She has worked hard for this even in the middle of a pandemic, and is a great asset to our team

Please have a read of this letter to all NHS patients from Lanarkshire health board. This explains the current situation for NHS dentistry. Although it has been reported in the news the full range of NHS treatments have now been made available, we are not back to 'business as usual'. We do still need to prioritise cases as we have limited appointments in line with government guidelines and to maintain social distancing. Our team are working really hard to keep up with demand... and we are booking weeks in advance already. We are grateful for your continued understanding and cooperation during this difficult time. We hope to see you all again soon!

28.10.2020

You may have seen in the news that the Scottish Government have reported that dental practices will be able to provide a full range of NHS treatment from 1st November 2020. Unfortunately, the dental profession learned about this through the media, and we have still had no communication about this. We are currently awaiting further information and guidance from the Chief Dental Officer to clarify exactly what service will be provided - we don't even know what will be available... on the NHS after this date. The number of appointments we can have in a day will still be severely reduced as all COVID-19 measures will remain in place to ensure the safety of our patients and teams. Private dentistry is regulated differently and we have invested heavily in PPE to enable our team to offer these options while NHS treatment remains unavailable. Should you wish to access treatment out with the NHS, which has always been available at our practice, our team will be happy to advise on the services we have available. We are so grateful to our patients who continue to be very understanding about the restrictions in place. At the moment, until further information is received, we will be continuing to see NHS patients for urgent care. We thank you for your understanding and co-operation at this difficult time.

We've had a lot of requests for hygiene appointments, particularly after lockdown when we all may have indulged a bit...! We have two options available at the moment if you would like your teeth cleaned:- 1) A simple hygiene visit for 30 ... 2) Full mouth hygiene plus an airflow polish for 60 Alternatively, you can opt to join one of our monthly practice plans. We have seen a huge increase in demand to join our practice plan! We offer two services:- 1) Full care plan - This includes all fillings, root treatments, check ups and hygiene visits. 2) Hygiene plan - This includes 2 check ups, 4 hygiene visits per year and a 15% discount off any treatment required. See the results of the Airflow polish below

We have had lots of questions from our patients about when we will be able to provide a wider range of NHS services and the answer is - we just don't know! Our NHS patients are able to be seen for urgent concerns only at present. This is due to restrictions from the Scottish Government and Chief Dental Officer. However, we are allowed to offer all services privately, and we have invested heavily to make sure we have the appropriate PPE and processes to keep everyone safe, w...hile still maintaining your dental health. Lesley trained to become an accredited Fit2Fit tester to ensure everyone in the practice can be fitted with the appropriate FFP3 respirator when required. Here is a behind the scenes shot of Anna being fitted for her mask!

Please see our website below for our latest Covid-19 update. This explains the different treatments we can offer and how to access them.

04.08.2020

Hope you are all well in these strange times. Lesley has returned from maternity leave and we are working hard to see all our patients who need assistance. As ever, we are at the other end of the phone to offer advice and appointments for urgent concerns. We are still on a restricted service but are gradually expanding the range of treatments we can offer. ... There have been some big changes in dentistry during the pandemic and we might look a bit different when you come to see us but it's still the same friendly team under the masks! If you attend an emergency appointment or examination we will be wearing the PPE on the right as modelled by Anna. For things like fillings and root treatments (aerosol generating procedures also known as an AGP) we will look like Lesley on the left. Please get in touch if you have any concerns or would like to ask questions about our new procedures in the practice.

This is a great article that explains what we can and can't do in NHS dentistry at the moment

19.07.2020

**COVID-19 UPDATE** We are pleased to announce that we have now been inspected by the health board and will be opening on Monday. Please be aware this is for URGENT treatment only that doesn't generate aerosols - this restricts the treatments we are able to provide at this time. We are also only able to see ten patients per day. This is due to lockdown restrictions from the Scottish Government, and we are following health board advice to the letter. ... If you feel you have an urgent dental problem or there is anything we can help with, even if it's just for advice please call us on 01698424444.
